Personality

Raintalon was born with the confidence of no other, and the heart of a thousand cats. He was loved, a trait uncommon among his former clan. But, being the deputy of both Roseclan and Deerclan, he could become a bit tedious in the form of work ethic. One of his strongest beliefs were that you had to work to survive. Nothing came easy. If you were being provided hospitality, you either had to have once worked hard and have earned your rest, or you were nothing more than a waste of space.

Combined with his confidence and his heart though, it seems like nothing more than a slight inconvenience. This quickly earned him the place of deputy at only 18 moons, and he began to work hard toward becoming the next leader. Like he said, work hard or it isn't worth it.

When the time finally came to become a leader, Raintalon refused. All of his confidence he once had vanished, and was replaced with forgiveness and compassion. He realized that others should have a chance at becoming leader, and he would stick with being the best deputy.

Raintalon has learned his place, taught others their place, and has the skills of no other! What more could he want?

He wants to expand Deerclan. Why? With every passing minute his clan becomes more powerful. Every second. He just wants to use that power for his clans good. What's wrong with that?

These thoughts have started to corrupt Raintalon, insisting that he must do something. But it just isn't his place. The tom has begun to lose his mind, all over power. A classic tragedy.

History

Raintalon was born to Fishwhisker and his unknown father. At the time, it was believed that is was Baily, who would sometimes wander outside of the territory, but it was confirmed false. This didn't impact his kithood like most cats, though, and instead inspired him to become a better cat than his father ever was.

Nearly before becoming an apprentice, Echostar was born. The two were best friends, and when Rainkit became Rainpaw, he taught Echostar as many moves as possible.

This was all fun and games, but his clanmates noticed the way there relationship and how they helped each other grow. Raintalon was happy to be noticed among the clan, and when his warrior name arrived he was more than happy to take over Echostar's training.

Being a kind and loving guy, and who had already mentored and apprentice, when the deputy before him died, no other cat than him was fit for the job.

It wasn't too long after he completed Echostar's training that he confessed his feelings for her. She was shy, of course, but they had been around each other enough Raintalon knew she was happy.

Settling down wasn't hard. His clanmates respected him, and respected his choice for Echostar. They were happy, even. A little jealous, but happy. Time continues and the clan has almost doubled. Raintalon is on his paws 24/7, supervising training and organizing patrols. That is, until his leader confessed about a plan; one to shorten Roseclan and create a new one.

The plan was simple. Echostar would lead a group of 10 so cats to a new location around the lake. These cats would be known as Deerclan, and would run separately from Roseclan. They would choose a leader, a deputy, and a medicine cat.

Raintalon go's with his mate to start up Deerclan, and promotes her as leader. He's comfortable as deputy, and encourages her into getting her nine lives and leading the new clan. Without him, Deerclan might never be the way it is now.

However, 2 moons before Echostar's kits were predicted to be born, Raintalon was murdered. No cat knows who did it, and his soul in unable to communicate this to the living. But he still knows.

Rabbitfoot. He approached him one evening, speaking of his love of Echostar and how he could treat her better with him out of the way. All the while he had him pinned down. The life was leaving him when he saw a red figure behind Rabbitfoot. The dark creator had corrupted him. There was no future for this cat, just as there was no more life for Raintalon.

Clan Role

Raintalon was eagerly accepted as deputy at a young age, in which he's learned and taken on many of the responsibilities the leader had.

One of which, of course, includes organizing daily patrols and supervising the prey-pile. If a cat goes hungry, he's to blame. Sometimes, Raintalon will also monitor training on a busy day, and properly access apprentices when the time is right.

While being deputy has it's perks, but it's not all fun in games. The responsibilities in order to prepare Raintalon into leadership can be difficult, and cruel. In the end, though, he knows it's worth it.
